Oscars 2013 - Time to vote for the BEST DIRECTOR

Dear students & readers of this blog,

In last week's poll, it seems it was a very difficult choice, as there were three nominees with two votes, which means that, for you, there are no clear winners. These were Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman & Denzel Washington. Last night, the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden in London celebrated their annual BAFTA awards. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts voted for the best of the year in the British cinema industry, and they voted for Argo, directed by Ben Affleck, as the best film of the year. Ben Affleck himself won the Bafta for best director. Unfortunately, he was not nominated for the Oscar too, as you will see below. Because this week, it is time for you to vote for the BEST DIRECTOR.

And the nominees are:

David O. Russell
Silver Linings Playbook
(El lado bueno de las cosas)

                           Benh Zeitlin
                           Beasts of the Southern Wild
                           (Bestias del sur salvaje)

Steven Spielberg
Lincoln

                                       Ang Lee
                                        Life of Pi
                                        (La vida de Pi)

Michael Haneke
Amour

My favourite love scene ever it's from a French film called 'Love me if you dare'. I can't barely explain how I felt the first time I watched this movie. Suddenly, all made sense to me. Every single person should have the chance of living such a love, and endless love. Moreover, French films usually include odd sequences, as the one I choosed. It shows two old friends who have been loving each other during all their life and, finally, they must admit their mutual love. When they were kids, they used to play a game whose rules were daring to do something risky or funny at least. That's why Julien says these genuine words, while the thick cement is covering them, burying them.
- You know... there were lots of things I was game for that you never said.
- Like?
- Eating ants... insulting the unemployed... loving you like crazy.

It's so touching! They're both such an arrogant couple but so cozy at the same time! You guys will end up loving them.
I encourage you all to watch this film in order to enjoy a French masterpiece and two wonderful actors who fell in love while filming and they are now married and having a gorgeous child!
Sorry for the French version, I didn't find the English one.
