On a day like today, Charles John Huffam Dickens would have turned 200 years old. It is certainly a day to celebrate.
Charles Dickens was born in Portsmouth, in the south of England, on the 7 February 1812, and is considered the greatest novelist of Victorian England. He enjoyed a considerable popularity and fame during his lifetime, which was not frequent in those days. He was buried at Westminster Abbey, London, where he has been paid homage today by Londoners, alongside H.R.H. the Prince of Wales and personalities such as actor & director Ralph Fiennes.
